Link Tracker Or Equivalent

I apologize for this noob question
1. Situation: Client wants me to deposit a bunch of links and banners to various medical portals, directories, pages, etc.
Problem: When I have to collect and compose a report of the stats at the end of the month, is their a program I can use that will track each link/banner and compose a stat chart for all of them, rather than having to do it manually (logging in to each area and collecting the stats in a report?
Like, for my own site, Cpanel has Awstats which I use for web stats, and I use Phpadsnew for my banner ads. Just want something like these that will collect all of them. Thanks. If I were to even look for a program what would I call it?
2. Situation: Not to be too obtuse, what effective reciprocal linking programs are ou there for lets say under $100? I use a lot of open source software, so not too inclined to pay for stuff.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Dominick
If this is a really stupid question, sorry.

There are a ton of programs that track traffic. I think the ones mentioned by Jill in another post were Clicktracks (very thourough ` $50/month) and conversionruler (basic ` $20/month)1. if it is an automated program inevitably it will probably be penalized. in addition if it is automated you will be exchanging links with anyone willing to exchange links with anyone. this is against Googles Terms of Service and is a type of search engine spam. if bad sites link into yours its no big deal, but when you recipricate the link you are guilty...
in reality a good link is worth a thousand crap ones. it is uaually worth the time to research and find similar sites which add quality to the user experience. that is the goal of search engines - if you do that you can't fail.
also consider submitting your sites to the directories

Aaron's advice is right on target. The only thing is that ClickTracks isn't free- I don't know of anything free that is going to do what you ask.

Not silly questions at all. In fact, they've all been asked many times in our few short months as a forum.
If you browse through the other threads in this Statistics and Tracking ROI category, you'll find lots of info on tracking software.
And if you browse through our Link Building category, you'll find lots of information about obtaining links to your site. (Hint, it's not really about "reciprocal linking" at all.)
