If you haven't seen it yet, you'll get a good overview of RSS/XML feeds from the guest article by Dan Theis and Kalena Jordan in this older issue of Jill's newsletter.
Or there are lots of posts about RSS feeds and syndication around the forums here as well. Most are probably in the Technology and Coding section, but they're sprinkled around a bit. A search should turn up all kinds of info.
