Hello,
I have read many other postings, I wanted to confirm that using LAYERS in a website will not hurt the SEO rankings.
I would hate to lose my current place, by switching over to layers. Layers just possess much more flexibility. But after reading old postings and new, there seems to be mixed feelings on this subject.
Any ideas?

Welcome, suffernomore
Just using layers is absolutely not a problem. It's using hidden layers that can cause trouble, and a discussion of that becomes a bit more complicated, because there are circumstances under which it's fine to hide layers.
But if your question is just about whether the presence of <div> tags is a problem for SEO, the answer is no.

So, just out of curiosity..What makes a LAYER hidden? Technically you can't actually see a layer. Does the <DIV> tag change to something else, or is a hidden layer completely something different?
