It seems a little funny?!

I have two sites of the same topic and keyword strategies. (not exactly the same, just the title, meta keyword & description, and header).

One does great in inktomi, and then the other doesn't get any clicks!
Weird, its like...its getting submitted but not high enough to get ANY clicks.

Could you get spidered in inktomi but get no rankings, becuase of an error, etc in your page?

This same page (that does not get clicks in inktomi) is a second pager in the main free engines (google, yahoo, etc).

I know inktomi only looks at the main page (with no links), the body has .....about ..... 60% as much in keyword population.

whats going on?! (or where should i start?)

That is like saying its not SPAM its only sPaM... duplicate content is a waste of time, concentrate on one of them and develope it fully

beyond that issue your querry is too general for anyone to give specifics, and honeslty few will be trying hard to help if they think you are actively engaged in spam generation

Yes - especially if you trip a spam penalty. Note that nearly all PFI pages are now liable to have a human inspect them. If you have two pages - and they are basically the same - I'm surprised you didn't lose both!

I find very curious behaviour with Inktomi. If I try to find backlinks doing a search for
"www.mydomain.com"
then the search only ever shows two pages.

Yet if I do keyword searches on Inktomi, then all sorts of other pages from this domain will come up very high in the SERP's.

Does anyone understand why this is happening?

INK partners normally limit the number of search results for a single term from the same site to 2.

To find your backlinks, try the advanced search features at hotbot.co.uk which is pure INK.

Thanks, MakeMeTop. I hadn't thought of doing it that way.

:propeller:

That could be....
How could I see if I have "tripped" the spam violations.
Is there a page that I can view to check?

I don't think they would intentionally make it easy to check (otherwise people could keep pushing the envelope further easier). I think paid inclusion comes with some sort of customer service though...

The only customer service you are likely to get is via the resellers (there are a few that resell Inktomi) rather than Inktomi itself...

Their guess (and it will be) is as good as anyone's on this board, and as mentioned in this (and other) thread(s), you are better off concentrating on decent content than pushing the limits of the spam detection.

Good tip. I use the backward link tool everywhere I can find them. So informative.
