Seriously? You gotta be kidding!!!! How can you possibly defend that behaviour? I am seriously flabergasted!!!

I have never had a boss like that. Not EVER. Annoying, angry, irritating, yes. But that level of Micromanagement? Ar you for real? That is seriously not uncommon?
Praise the lord Aussies are so damned laid back.

My boss is sincerely mentally ill, I think. The longer I stay here and the more he likes me, the better things get. It also doesn't help that the company's been going through some very hard times, and the company is his baby, so he takes it really personally. Things are improving, though, for the company as a whole and with him personally.
That said, I still would really like to get my freelance business off the ground so the only psycho boss I have to deal with-- is ME!!
The consensus here and at cre8asite is that IBP is good software for beginners, in that it helps them break down the tasks before them and get an idea of where to start. But if you're a pro, you probably don't need it.
Most of the real pros I know claim not to use any software, and I think my results have been pretty darn good without any. So, I guess it's the kind of thing that's really helpful when you're starting out but not something you'll need in the long run. I don't know; I never tried it.

Hmm, I'm not too sure about that. Think "Distributed DoS attack"...
I'm doing automatic check in a friendly, easy on the resources manner on resonable amounts of keywords on a monthly basis, if that. Since the checking is done in a manner that mimics my own manual actions rather than taking full advantage of my 2.54GHz workstation and broadband connection by firing something close to a DoS attack at the SE, I don't believe they would have a problem with it, but they would be wise to cover themselves by not officially making exceptions.
