Hi all

Just wondering if there is a way for css to change part of a page

What i mean is, i want to be able to have a section in my page where i can change the text every day in css, this can be done if the text is an image but i want it to be readable text

Any ideas

Thanks

Cass

It's not possible to achieve in CSS alone, you would have to use a javascript show/hide function or document.write after checking the day. Not a 100% reliable method, it wouldn't work for SE crawlers and you would be relying on the client browser to determine the day/time

The best method is to use server-side scripting to display a message pulled from a database or a predefined array after checking the day.

There are lots of fairly simple rotation scripts out there, in javascript and .php that can change text on a regular basis. Have a look at Sourceforge for open source (free) solutions.

PHP is definitely the answer - providing you are on an Apache server of course smile.gif

If your server is a Windows platform, asp can do the trick as well.

How about server side includes? I use them for this sort of thing all the time.

That should do what you want.
