I was wondering if anyone has an experience with the affects of adding recip page to a site?
1. Does that change the way surfers view the site, that is the trust that's needed for a consumer to actually buy?
2. I read somewhere that naming the page links.html can hurt you (se-wise) is that right?
Thanks in advance,

If you link to other sites (whether those links are reciprocal or not), make sure those sites are the sort that would be of interest to your readers. If you do that, you'll increase their trust in you.
The links.html story was a myth, I believe.

How would your user know that the links were reciprocal, and why would they care?
As long as your providing them with sites that are related to yours which they may find interesting, they will be happy.

I absolutely agree with Bob here, although the page name of 'useful resources' is far better than 'links'.
The way the better web marketers are going is to create a true resource page(s) where links are organised, and have a small snippet of information. Links out to other sites AND links to your own related pages within your own site.
Having a true resource section can only enhance the public perception of your website IMO.
<edit> beaten to the punch by Jill, so I agree with her as well as Bob

Another way to *use* that page of recip links is to refer to them as "partners", (which they are in a sense). Helps establish your site as part of a network and bolsters your credibility.
I prefer "resources.html" or "partners.html" over links.html myself. Sounds more professional!
