Does any body know how I can cut make a certain portion of my site unscrolable? There is a part at the bottom of my site that I don't want to be visable but I can't remove.

I supose this can be done just by placing some kind of code, because it accidentaly hapened once when I was placing a script on my site and evrything below it was unsrollable.

If you don't want a portion of your site to be visible, you should comment it out.

LOL- why would you do that, other than trying to trick search engines?

I think you may be at the wrong forum....

No I am in no way tring to trick search engines. The reason for this is my site is, my site is currently on free hosting, Freewebs to be exact and I want to hide their link wich can't be removed, because it's inaccesible to editors/owner but limiting the scrollable sections will do the trick.

My content will be on their server until I finish designing my site using GoLive 6.0, then I will move it to a paid server with a new design.

My guess is that it would be against your terms of service with the hosting company to hide their link. That is how you are "paying" for the service.

Oh, you don't want to cheat the search engines, just your hosting company.

Either way, you shouldn't be doing it.

Hosting is cheap nowadays. Seems silly to go to great lengths to hide a link just to save yourself a few bucks a month.
Why can't you move over to the paid hosting now?

OK, all of you have made your point!
I'll keep their link up until I finish my design. Right now, I'm not paying too much attention to the site and I don't want to pay hosting until I get more involved in the site (after I'm finished with design), but their service is great for storing my content. biggrin.gif

If I understood you correctly your are already planning on moving to a paid server. Go ahead and make the move. Change the DNS settings to point to the new domain. Wait about a week and delete the old web site.

Then continue to work on your pages and upload changes as you improve the page.

Pretty simple really. I can't think of any reason to delay a change that you already intend to implement. No need to trick anyone. Apparently you have some rankings in the SEs. You should keep your rankings.

<edit> I just noticed the change is in the planning stages. Go ahead and do it. You will be glad you did. </edit>
