In another forum - someone claimed it was something to do with the fact they had multiple domains and the wrong type of redirect.

I saw that (or an overview of it in a newsletter). Apparently, they're using 302 redirects where they should be using 301s, but it would be wrong to say that they're banned, as the thread does. The fact that they show up at all in Google proves that that's not the case.

Hello SDavis.

bluefind.com allows you to submit a page or a site (the home page). The page submit option allows you to tailor the listing much more than submitting the home page.

Hello. thisisouryear.com just raised their rates to $19.95, with the tenth submission free.

Welcome, Jeff bye1.gif

I was unfamiliar with some of the sites you mentioned, so I went to take a look. www.directoryarchive.com resolves to a parked domain at GoDaddy. Is that the correct URL? If it is, it looks like it's changed owner recently.

That'll teach me to post in a hurry. smile.gif

The correct URL is www.directoryarchives.com. Maintained by Aaron Wall, who posts here a bit, if I'm not mistaken.

Original post corrected, and thanks for the welcome.

Yep, there's a directory for just about anything anymore. smile.gif Though, I would really like to see these niche and speciality directories get more exposure. Usually it's the DMOZ competitors getting all the press (BlueFind, Gimpsy, GoGuides, etc), which isn't to say that more than one general directory is a bad thing, but there are quite a few lesser known speciality directories that would likely provide some powerfully targeted traffic for commercials and non-commercials alike. It's just a matter of learning about them.
