I checked my stats over the weekend and noticed I have been searched for in Yahoo. I then went to Yahoo and typed in my domain and lo and behold, about 10 pages came up.
Now the weird thing is..I have yet to submit to any SE or even post my site in any forum. (I am still optimizing my beginning pages and didnt want to get spidered till i complete this task.) The only place I see in my stats is that someone with Yahoo emailed clicked on the link i sent them.
So my question is...does Yahoo spider their email for sites? If not, how then could I have been spidered. Also, about a year ago, I put up a family site for a friend and I remember looking at the stats on that page and been found by Yahoo SE on some obscure terms which was in their copy and on some images, which I now look back and think.....only way they could have found us is once again through sending the link via email and opened in a yahoo email account.
If this is true, this might be a good way to get indexed by Yahoo. Love to hear some feedback.
All the Best,
Chris
PS. Jill, I did read your book last week and it was like a light bulb went off on understanding of keywords and placement. And with replies back to my other question regarding article length, it gave me a great idea on how I need to structure our site. I love this forum
