Does this kind of link exchange work in searche engine? I want to try since it is free but of course I want to ask the experts about this.. the directory url is sazco dot net

I think it would work. I'm not an expert on database driven sites. How the links get spidered will depend on how the querry strings are written. It might be a conversation to take up with the webmaster in the FAQ forum of that site. I might try it out with one of my sites. I'm always looking for time savers.

That's the exact definition of a link farm.

How could you define link farm? If directory like this is considered as link farm then I think all directory out there are considered as link farm isn't?

The automatic link created I think is not link farm too since your site will be included only to same category sites.

Plus you get a solo back link from other members site... here is a example...

QUOTE
www.freewebhosting-guide.info/linkresources.php - this url is the list of url of who give back links.
www.freewebhosting-guide.info/solo-link.php?t=27  - Get solo back link to his site

Now is that considered as link farm?

What I am not so sure is that.. if SE crewl the database result.... smile.gif

The pirmary difference between a link farm and web directory is the links in link farm aren't organized or divided into catagories.

The second major distinction is that a link farm doesn't pay attention to optimization. There are many links on any given page, usually so many your link will never get spidered.

The software we have been discussing is a database driven web directory that just happens to only allow link submissions for exchange.

There are a lot differences between the two.

Someone went to the trouble of installing and customizing the scripts that went into that directory, If the directory isn't optimized for search he or she wasted a lot of time.

No, the major difference between the two is that a directory is a hub of links out to other sites. There is no reciprocal linking from those sites back to the directory or to the other sites in the directory (other than what happens naturally).

Many directories ask for a reciprocal link or give a better listing to sites that link back. That does not make them link farms. Indeed link farm is a vague term that has no real meaning or definition. If the directory is well categorised, the page you want to add your link on is indexed by google and is a useful resource for real visitors than their is no harm in linking back. Reciprocal linking is a perfectly legitimate arrangment.

A reciprocal link is not the same as MEMBERS linking to each other.

I’m with Jill. It’s the cross linking of members that makes this a link farm.

A pure link farm has always been that you add your site to a list that appears across a network of other sites. This is no different IMO, as the only sites that are carrying these links are the sites that are all linking to each other.

Here's one deffinition of link farm: www.netmechanic.com/news/vol5/promo_no7.htm (not to be confused with linkfarm.com)

Ok i agree with that. It is not simply that a reciprocal link to the directory is requested that makes this a link farm.

Correct Diniz. Reciprocal links are not link farms.
