So, Google has launched a programme that automatically determines the best keywords based upon a data feed.
Has anyone used this, and do you have any further details??

Sorry Jill, should have mentioned that, in:
1) A newsletter from Google.
2) Planet Ocean (I couldn't, unfortunately, link to that resource).
3) WMW - http://www.webmaster...forum96/201.htm, but I just found that one moments after posting here.
I read about it back in early October on http://www.seroundta...ves/000960.html, but forgot about it til this week.

"You'll be able to create keyword-less data feed campaigns in your existing AdWords account while investing minimal time and effort," Google said in its e-mail.

I'll certainly look into how to do it. It looks like it could be useful. Thanks for the heads up.

This could be very handy if Google built Adwords ads for you based on very specific data within your Froogle feeds like model numbers. That type of traffic converts very well, but it's a chore to build out the ads. At this point, I believe it's limited to businesses with at least 1000 SKUs in their data feeds, but that will probably drop over time. It certainly sounds valuable to me for stores I work with who have smaller inventories than that.

I have setup a few ad automater campaigns now, I have to say initially I wasn't impressed but the last few campaigns I have setup seem to be doing extremely well ... I am guessing they have tweaked their algorithm a little and the results are better targeted.
I believe ad automater is definitely the way forward, no more extensive keyword research, of which you will only find a small amount of actual keyword permutations ie the head terms ... this allows you access to the full spectrum of keywords from head to tail.
The tips I can offer on the campaigns so far are, allow Google to decide on the title and description and bid fairly aggressively.
