Alright question is does G**gle or heck any other search engine for that matter penilize for T.Eing a site? My older brother T.Eed his site <url edited- please read Forum Rules> and in the first like month he got like 1000 visitors a DAY after it was indexed. Although the next month he was slammed or so he though with a penalty. Yet he check his stats just the other day and hes still getting somewhere around 100-250 visitors a day? Oh yeah I also forgot to mention that his website has a PR6 (or did that he bought) now its a 5 since the recent algo change. His sitemap has a 4 and then link pages have 3's or 2's. So does G**gle or any other S.E. that anyone knows of accept these PhPed sites?

For those who don't know T.E. if the php version is used goes out to the top search engines and pulls in the top listings for *keyword* and then posts it onto your page. Thus giving you the best and most relivant pages for that keyword. Although to me it seems like it would be easily picked up.?

Please help cause if you don't get penilized I'm f-ing T.E.ing my sites...hehe :-D

I can say I found this being done with my keyword descriptions, and it really angered me and is not ethical at all. ranting.gif I hope the SE's penalize for this activity! I found it easy enough -

It's basically taking visitors I would have received - based on hard work and research and sending them to a site that does NOT necessarily have the qualifications or content for using those keywords... and it backs it up by showing MY URL in the actual link! Definately infringement.

IMHO - This kind of hurts us all, including the searcher.

These are those phony directory pages with scraped search engine listings as pages?

I see them a lot but I can't say they seem to work... especially because when people click on the link, they get a listing of real sites to visit...

What makes you think scraped listings are "ideal" content? LOL...

Welcome to the forum, Warzman123. If you want to learn, hang around...

Warz, I'm afraid you're at the wrong forum if you're looking for tips on how to spam the engines.

You won't find people here who do it, but there are many other forums around who are happy to discuss different spamming techniques. You'd probably be better off there if you don't feel like working hard at making a great site that works for the long term.

No NO!! I'm not looking to spam by any means!!! Believe me I've worked my a** off on www.BushHumor.com days and hours of solid researching keywords links and site designs and creations. I was just wondering what some SEOers more seasoned than I, where thinking about it. Sry for any mis-conseptions...

ok what is T.E. ? someone said it was "scraping page listings"... what exactly does that mean? it steals others content? sorry I'm new to SEO well new to owning a website in general, and because of that now interested in SEO. I'm not saying that I would like to do it if it makes so many people mad, but I am not quite sure what it is or why everyone is so mad about it.

Hey archmaille,

T.E. is the abbreviation for a little software package that automates creating a fakey directory. It idea being that it would allow you to quickly create thousands and thousands of pages which are simply the "scraped" results of the search engine results pages for various keyword phrases.

Definitely not a good long-term choice if your goal is to have a valuable and compelling web site.

Finally know the name of the real program out there that does this. I've come across a few of these sites when tracking down who has links to my site.

One site that pointed back to mine was a page of "escort" services being listed. I could not figure out why in the world my site would be in that canned page then I looked at the detail and it was linking to my history page where I was talking about "Betty bombers having an escort of Zeros" .

Their PHP page searched the net to find phrases of "escort" and proper names I suspect.

Automated directory programs scrapping the net for phrases to use in on the fly false directories will always fail in some manner.

As i mentioned in another post, I think they do this just to earn money from showing ads. Nothing of real value is being created by making these pages.
