Nice to see who's #3 in that SERP! ;)

Hasn't the viewer been around a while? I feel like I've played with this before...

So far I'm not too impressed with the location SERP's.

It's interesting to see that the number 1 word searched for on Google as of 9 a.m. (according to the ticker) is, in fact, "google." Go figure.

I was impressed with its pizza expertise in Minneapolis:

There are some gooooood pizzas on that list.

The problem in my area- not enough local businesses have websites. Have to work on that... ;)

I'm seeing better SERP's in the regular side vs the location side for the same terms.

If you were actually looking at the WordTracker ticker, those aren't words searched for on Google. They are words searched for on the Meta Crawler properties that WordTracker gathers its data from.

;)

Thanks for the clarification Jill; if I had taken a little more time with it, maybe I would have figured that out. :slap:

On further examination of the ticker, I think we should change the last letter in the SEO acronym to an "X." :naughty: Search Engine eXperts, Search Engine eXaminers, Search Engine X-rayers.... C'mon, help me out here.

Anyway, back on topic: It's a nice toy, but I think I'll stick with the regular Google page, especially when I'm on a dial-up connection.

I've found that even on a fast connection at my end, if I speed up the ticker to about 3 seconds it may miss a page hosted on a slower server. The description appears in the top frame, but the previous page remains in the bottom, then it moves on to the next.

I guess I'm just too impatient.

The search by location test is finding addresses in web pages then displaying results of a zip code city, state serach based on what it has indexed on web pages.

I know one business here in Beaverton Oregon (Suburban Photo) that has no web site but when searching by location for this photo shop it comes up since others have listed the business on their web site and thus it was indexed and found by Google and came up on the SERP. Thus, it was located based on address information on other sites.
