Links To Site On Yahoo
Posted 12 October 2004 - 02:48 PM
Looking at teh results, I see most of them are completely irrelevant, as they are a home/moving resource website.
If i click on some of the results and search the page or the source for the URL I find nothing.
is this because these are all affiliate links that are showing up?
Is there a way to tell from these results if they bought into a link farm or it's legitimate affiliate links?
They do have a PageRank of 6, so as long as they're not going hogwild with link farms I'd assume a good optimization overhaul & some relevant links might do them well.
Thanks for taking a look,

I spot checked a couple and they all had actual direct links.

My bad, i just did the search again and saw that they are all relevant. I was looking at results for a different site earlier.
So then the question still remains - is there any way to tell by looking at these results (or any) if the links were bought into from a spammy link farm or if they might all be legitimate affiliate links.
Or do I just not know enough about how link farms & affiliate links work to be asking that question...

Affiliate links on the other hand aren't usually direct links, they have some tracking code on them. They don't always count towards link pop. either.
